PTFE Lining Process
Fluoro Pacific is renowned for delivering PTFE lined pipes that meet the exacting specifications of our clients. The production process involves heating and extruding a PTFE cylinder, which is then inserted into the pipe. Typically, the PTFE tube exceeds the pipe diameter and, being a thermoset plastic, it contracts to fit tightly within the pipe when tension is relieved, ensuring a snug, immovable bond. Additional PTFE length at each end is subjected to flaring, where it is heated and pressed firmly against the pipe flange face. This is further secured with metallic bolts that compress the flared edges, achieving a tight seal, whether extending pipe length or attaching to metal surfaces.
