PTFE is the most prevalent fluoropolymer lining material. However, alternative materials such as FEP, PFA, ECTFE, and PVDF are also available to suit diverse applications and requirements.

The adoption of PTFE provides pipes with an extended lifespan, effectively mitigating the risk of catastrophic failure. Such failures could lead to significant damage and high replacement costs, along with downtime and critical OH&S issues due to exposure to corrosive substances like acids.
Metal pipes, including carbon and stainless steel, are prone to corrosion when in contact with aggressive liquids such as acids. A PTFE lining is expertly engineered to snugly fit within the pipe, providing essential protection against corrosion.
PTFE Lining Process
Fluoro Pacific offers customization with PTFE lined pipes tailored to customer specifications. The manufacturing process involves heating, extruding, and inserting a PTFE cylinder into a pipe. Typically, the PTFE tube has a larger diameter than the pipe, and as a thermoset plastic, it contracts to fit tightly once tension is released. The additional PTFE length at either end is flared by heating and compressing it against the pipe flange, while metallic bolts press two flared edges to achieve a tight seal, allowing extensions to pipe length or connections to other metal surfaces.
