    PTFE Lining Process

The advanced manufacturing process involves heating a PTFE cylinder, then extruding and inserting it into the pipe. Typically, the PTFE tube is slightly larger in diameter than the pipe itself; as a thermoset plastic, it will contract to fit tightly once tension is released, resulting in an immovable fit. Excess PTFE at either end is expertly flared, with the PTFE being heated and compressed against the face of the pipe flange. This is then secured with metallic bolts, compressing the flared edges to ensure a tight seal for elongation or connection to other metal surfaces.
